Juego de las Mazorcas

  1. In this video we can see a traditional game, in Spanish called: ´Juego De Las Mazorcas´, that is very useful to improve the speed, because to win the game we have to do it in the minimum possible time.
As we can see in the video, the game consist in two teams, with a line of different cones, more o less with one meter of distance, and the objective is to run and get cones to the principle to the final in the order that you want, but only one cone before to start again, and have all the cones on one table. When you have all in the table, to finish, you have to to do the same, but putting the cones like when we start playing.
However, not only win the team that run more, also is important things like strategy or time of reaction, that makes the game funny, although the practice cyclic speed, because all the time we have to repeat the movements. This we can see in the physical education classes, because when the team that starts with the last cone win the game, however, sometimes we do a faster speed but not always we can do with all ours energy.
For it, the conclusion that I learn, is that the speed in our lives is very important, because in all of the moments we have to resort to it, and also the way you do the things it can help you to do more fast and with more constant energy.

    1. This is a very interesting comment because you explain not only the rules of the traditional game, but also how it relates to important aspects of speed training in Physical Education. I like that you identify concepts such as reaction time, cyclic speed, strategy, and energy management, because this shows a deeper understanding of the activity beyond simply “running fast.” The explanation of the game is detailed and helps the reader understand how it works and why it can be useful for improving speed in a fun and competitive way. The conclusion is also positive because you connect the activity with everyday life and the importance of efficiency and decision-making. Although there are several grammatical mistakes, the ideas, analysis, and connection with Physical Education are very good.

  2. Hi Sofia, thanks for this video.
This is really helpful to know about other culture’s games and to preserve them.
As we have done it at class I can san from the experience that is a relay fun game, and you have described it really well.
I especially love your point about cyclic speed because the way you have to repeat movements consistently is exactly how real-world agility is built.
It’s also a great life lesson: being the fastest runner doesn’t always mean you’ll win if you don't have a plan and a way to manage your energy.
Great job connecting a fun classroom activity to such important physical and mental skills!"

  3. Hi Sofia, I really liked your video about “el juego de las mazorcas” because it is fun and very interesting. I think you chose this video because it shows a traditional game from Spain and teaches us more about Spanish culture. I also liked it because we played this game during the Santo Domingo Olympics, so it was funny to remember that moment and see how the game works again. The video is easy to understand and the game looks entertaining to play with friends and family. Overall, your video was original and enjoyable to watch
